About me
Jasmine Swann is a passionate and dedicated public-school educator with over 15 years of experience, serving in 2025/26 as a Kindergarten and Third Grade Math Interventionist at Westside Elementary School in Roanoke City Public Schools. Her commitment to student success has earned her numerous accolades, including being named both Westside’s and Roanoke City’s 2024 Teacher of the Year. In 2025, she proudly founded the school's inaugural National Junior Beta Club, an initiative that celebrates student achievement in leadership and academics. Jasmine's educational philosophy revolves around the belief that every child has the potential to succeed, provided they are given the tools, support, and individualized care they need. She is known for her deep, personal connection with her students, recognizing each by name, understanding their unique needs, and knowing the context of their lives outside the classroom. She believes that fostering these relationships strengthens the educational experience, ensuring her students thrive both academically and personally. Jasmine's tireless dedication to learning extends to her own professional growth as well, as she continually seeks out new strategies to make education more accessible and meaningful to her students.
